The Vietnam Executive Housekeepers Association – VEHA, in coordination with the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, successfully organized the “2026 Housekeeping Supervision Skills Enhancement Seminar”, with the participation of nearly 100 Housekeeping Maanagers from Hotels and Resort in Da Nang City.
The program was designed to update participants on new trends in the hotel industry, identify key challenges facing Housekeeping operations, clarify the competency requirements for modern Housekeeping managers and supervisors, and share practical solutions aimed at improving service quality, guest experience and operational efficiency.

Overview of the seminar
Supporting the Development of High-quality Tourism Human Resources in Da Nang
In her opening remarks, Ms. Le Ai Diep – Head of the Tourism Accommodation Management Division, Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized: “The program is part of a series of training and professional development activities to improve the quality of tourism human resources in 2026. Through practical professional programs, the city’s tourism sector aims to improve service quality and visitor satisfaction, further strengthen the Da Nang brand as a professional, friendly and high-class destination, and especially accelerate the shift from volume-driven growth towards development based on experiential value.”

The selection of Housekeeping management and supervision as the seminar topic reflects the important role of Housekeeping in accommodation operations – a department that directly contributes to room quality, cleanliness, safety, guest comfort and the overall guest experience.
Housekeeping Management Facing New Expectations
The program content focused on key issues ranging from industry development trends to the major challenges facing Housekeeping in the new environment, particularly those related to human resources, productivity, costs, technology, rising guest expectations and sustainable development.
From Knowledge to Practical Solutions
With more than 30 years of practical experience in hotel operations, management and training, Mr. Nguyen Quang – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Hotel Association and Chairman of the Vietnam Executive Housekeepers Association – directly shared practical cases, experience and Housekeeping management solutions that can be applied at accommodation establishments.

Mr. Nguyen Quang – Trainer & Facilitator of the workshop
Rather than focusing purely on theory, the program devoted significant time to discussing real operational issues faced by Housekeeping departments every day: how to address current Housekeeping challenges; how to improve productivity while maintaining quality; effective delegation and supervision; team development; service quality control; cross-departmental coordination; handling operational situations and guest complaints; and gradually integrating technology and sustainability thinking into Housekeeping operations.
Through this approach, participants were not only able to update their knowledge, but also to compare it with the actual operations of their own hotels and identify priority areas for improvement.

Participants actively interact and discuss real operational situations
An Active and Engaging Learning Environment

In addition to the dedicated sharing by Mr. Nguyen Quang, the success of the program was also driven by the active and enthusiastic participation of nearly 100 attendees.
Many practical questions, real-life situations and operational challenges were raised for direct discussion. Participants actively shared experiences from their own properties, analyzed the causes of problems and discussed appropriate solutions.

The program therefore created an open, positive and highly interactive atmosphere, encouraging two-way exchange between the trainer and Housekeeping professionals currently managing operations at hotels and resorts throughout the city.
This was also one of the important values of the seminar: creating a professional forum where Housekeeping practitioners could share experiences, learn best practices and reassess the role of Housekeeping in modern hotel management.

90-Day Action Plan – The Program Does Not End After One Day
One of the distinctive features of the program was the orientation for each participant to develop a 90-Day Action Plan – “Improving Housekeeping Service Quality” – tailored to the actual conditions of their own workplace.
Rather than ending after a single day of discussion, the seminar was positioned as the starting point of a longer journey to strengthen participants’ Housekeeping management and supervisory capabilities.
Over the following three months, Mr. Nguyen Quang will continue to accompany, exchange with and support participants as they refine and implement Housekeeping service quality improvement projects at their respective properties.
Through this approach, the knowledge gained from the program is expected to gradually translate into concrete operational improvements, from people management and processes to service quality, guest experience and overall operational effectiveness.
Strengthening Management Capability – Enhancing Destination Quality
The cooperation between VEHA and the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in organizing the program further demonstrates the strong connection between government authorities – professional associations – businesses and employees in tourism workforce development.
For VEHA, the sustainable development of the Housekeeping profession goes beyond improving technical skills for employees. It also requires particular attention to the capabilities of managers and supervisors – those who directly lead teams, control quality and translate service standards into actual guest experiences.
Strengthening Management Capability – Enhancing Housekeeping Quality – Elevating Guest Experience.
